We want to congratulate Ebenezer’s Sis Regenia Cannon who recently received the “Community Hospices Volunteer of the Year” award.  Sis Canon also was fortunate to receive a congratulatory  from President Barack Obama and an Official Pin for select Presidential Volunteers. With the Presidents’s “Volunteer of the Year Award” Sis Canon’s signed letter including the following statement:

In 1993, The Washington Home & Community Hospices’ Board of Governors established the “Eula Lewis Award” to recognize a hospice volunteer whom supports the mission and provides an untiring dedication to volunteerism.   The organization stated “Regenia Cannon’s willingness to serve wherever she is needed – her “roll up your sleeves and get busy” attitude – are incredible gifts to Community Hospices’ patients and their loved ones who are facing the most difficult times in their lives.”

Congrats To Dr. Clay, The Prince George’s school counselor wins national award!

The Washington Post on February, 17 2013 recognized Dr. William Flip Clay for his outstanding work. Dr. Clay, who has served as a school counselor for 14 years, was recently honored for his work with students receiving the 2012 Marcus Foster Distinguished Educator award from the National Alliance of Black School Educators, a nonprofit that aims to improve academic achievement among black students.  This exceptional ebenezer member recognized on numerous occasions, continues to have a positive impact on our youth.
