Ebenezer AME Bible Institute
The vision of a Bible Institute within the confines of Ebenezer AME Church has been a fervent prayer of Pastor Grainger Browning and Co-Pastor Jo Ann Browning. They prayed, fasted and sought God for this vision to become a reality. God being true to His word did just that on Monday, September 10, 2001, The Ebenezer A.M.E. Bible Institute, Inc. (EBI) opened its doors for the very first time. As it is more convenient, more comfortable, more of a sense of belonging, to have certain conveniences within our personal homes, it is no different for our Church home. There are numerous institutions teaching God’s word, but none with the uniqueness, convenience and warmth of having a Bible Institute at home.
EBI exists to nurture and equip men and women to do the work of ministry. We believe that each Christian is called to minister in some capacity. A working knowledge of the Scriptures is necessary to fulfill the Great Commission; we desire to teach men and women how to apply the Word of God in their lives.
As Christians, we are to be, “doers of the Word, not just hearers.” One of the focus goals of the Institute, is to teach believers in a structured setting, how they are to “live” the word in their everyday lives and in their Christian walk.
