HEALTH MINISTRY: October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and today is Pink Sunday. Fact #3: Men can get breast cancer too! About 2,350 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in men in 2015. Men carry a higher mortality than women do, primarily because awareness among men is less and they are less likely to assume a lump is breast cancer.
Make plans to attend a Breast Cancer Awareness Forum sponsored by Sisters Helping Sisters under the direction of the Women’s Resource & Restoration Center Thurs., Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. with guest speaker Dr. Regina Hampton from Signature Breast Cancer Center in Lanham, MD.
