BREAST CANCER AWARENESS: We are continuing our Breast Cancer Awareness facts. Compared to other racial/ethnic groups, there is evidence that suggests that breast cancer’s aggressive tumor characteristics are more common in black women. This is due to the lower frequency of and longer intervals between mammograms, as well as the lack of timely follow-up after abnormal results. Mammograms and follow-ups are essential! Next Sun, Oct. 28 is Pray in Pink…wear anything pink to church and don’t forget to pick up your breast cancer ribbon in the Narthex every Sunday.

SOCIAL CONSCIOUS MINISTRY. October is also Domestic Violence Awareness month. Here are the facts: #1) Domestic Violence is the least-publicized crime in the U.S.. #2) Incidents of domestic violence involve men, women, children and seniors. #3) Over 12 million women and men in the U.S. experience physical violence by an intimate partner every year and 10 million children are exposed to domestic violence every year. Let’s help raise the awareness of domestic violence. Pick up resource materials after service at our table.
