MEN’S SEASON: It’s Men’s Season 2018! The 2018 Men’s Season will kick-off with a Prayer and Consecration Service TODAY at 5 p.m. Brothers, come out and experience the power of God to become Transformers…Empowered by His Spirit to Impact our Mind, Body and Soul.
This Thurs., Oct. 11th at 7 pm, will be the Men’s Season “Transformed To Make A Difference” panel to discuss social justice, voting and the mid-term elections. Panelists include Ben Crump, attorney for the families of Travon Martin and Michael Brown; Barbara Arnwine, President of Igniting Change and former president of Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law; Lezley McSpadden, mother of Michael Brown and other special invited guests. Don’t miss this opportunity to be educated and empowered to make a difference. Be here and bring someone with you!
The next Men’s Season 2018 Planning Committee meeting is Tues., Oct. 9th at 7 p.m. All brothers are welcome to come out and join as we plan a blessed 2018 Men’s Season & Conference!
Also, onsite Voter Registration will be available here at Ebenezer Sun., Oct. 7th, 11th, and 14th.
NEW MEMBERS’ CLASS: The next New Members class will be held Sat. Oct. 13th and will focus on Christianity and Discipleship.
COLLEGE FAMILY MINISTRY (CFAM): CFAM is excited to announce the College Alumni Database. Right after service, we’re asking all college alumni to see a CFAM Team Member to be added to the database. Don’t miss the chance to rep your college or university! Learn more about the many ways you can impact the lives of college students. Come out Mon., Oct. 15 at 7p.m. If interested, but can’t make the meeting, stop by the table after service.
BAPTISM: The next Baptism instruction class will be Mon. Oct. 15th at 7p.m. for pouring & sprinkling.
EBENEZER INSTITUTE: The Ebenezer Institute will host an open house for new membership Sat., Oct. 20th at 1 p.m. The ministry is seeking new members as we grow and plan for the Ebenezer Institute Spring 2019 sessions.
FALL/WINTER CLOTHING & TOILETRY COLLECTION DRIVE: We are collecting new or slightly used – not torn – winter coats, jackets, hats, gloves, sweaters, sweatpants, sweatshirts, thermal underwear, boots/sneakers, socks, and toiletries. Please drop the items off in the box marked MHVM (located near the Security Desk). If you have any questions, call the church.
YOUNG ADULT BIBLE STUDY: Young adults, fall is here, but don’t fall back on coming out to Bible Study. Have you been trying to reach your goals and achieve your dreams, but need direction and power? Throughout the month of Oct., we’ll discuss God’s vision for planning on purpose and working your plan! Come out on the 4th Thursday in Oct. at 7:30 pm on the third floor of the Main Church. Please note that we will not have Bible Study this week to join the Social Justice Panel.
JEWELS MINISTRY: The Jewels are on the move! Thurs., Oct. 25th they will experience a 3-1/2 hour narrated driving tour of Historic African America in Philadelphia, PA. Stops include St. George U.M. Church, Mother Bethel AME, Philadelphia Art Museum, and more. Stop by the Jewels table after service or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS: October is Breast Cancer awareness month. Throughout the month, we will provide facts: FACT 1…Breast cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death among black women, surpassed only by lung cancer. These higher death rates reflect a combination of factors, including differences in the stage of breast cancer at diagnosis, obesity and comorbidities, and having dense breasts.
Oct. 28th is Pray in Pink…wear anything pink to church and don’t forget to pick up your breast cancer ribbon in the Narthex.
