ASH WEDNESDAY: February 14th is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Join us as we kick-off the Lenten Season with teaching from Pastor Browning Ash Tuesday, Feb. 13th here at Ebenezer at 7 p.m.

LEADERSHIP MEETING: The next church-wide leadership meeting is Mon., Feb. 12th at 7 p.m. All ministry leaders are asked to attend.

CALL TO MINISTRY: The next Call to Ministry Institute will be Tues., Feb. 20th at 7 p.m. on the third floor. If you feel you have a calling on your life, don’t miss this meeting.

EBENEZER INSTITUTE: Plan to attend Ebenezer Institute’s March classes. Sessions begin March 3rd – March 24th. The classes include Spiritual Gifts and Biblical Studies, Financial Planning & Management, and Professional Development. Don’t wait, register in the Narthex after service today.

COMFORT MINISTRY – CHARIOTS OF FIRE: The Men’s component of the Comfort Ministry will hold an informational meeting for any brother interested in serving in this ministry Thurs., Feb. 15th at 7 p.m. The Chariots of Fire primarily assist the Comfort Ministry in performing routine home and hospital visits to our sick and shut-in brothers.

NEW MEMBERS CLASS: New Members’ class will be held Sat., Feb. 17th at 10 a.m. The focus will be on Church History.

PRE-MARITAL INSTITUTE: Considering engagement, engaged or already planning your wedding? Come out for a Bone of My Bone Pre-Marital Seminar taught by Pastor Jo Ann Browning Thurs., Feb 22nd at 7p.m.. Also, couples planning weddings for 2018 are encouraged to invest in their relationship with pre-marital counseling. Bone of My Bones Pre-marital Institute is held on Saturdays for 8 weeks at 9 a.m. The first class of winter session begins Sat., March 3. Cost is $75. Register in the Admin. Office.

POETRY MINISTRY: Celebrate Black History Month Fri., Feb. 16th at 6 p.m. Join the Poetry Ministry for “If You Don’t Know, You’d Better Ask Someone” with performances by the Anointed P.E.N.S. African drumming & dancing, Kwanzaa presentation and open mic. If there is a love of poetry on your heart, come enjoy this celebration of history, culture and our love for Christ.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY: You don’t want to miss this Bible Study, every Thursday at 7:30 p.m.  Tell another brother and join them in the ZONE!

2018 COMFORT & CONGREGATIONAL CARE SUMMIT:  It’s time for the Ebenezer Comfort and Congregational Care 2018 Summit. Join us at 8a.m. on Sat., Feb. 24th at the Harborside Hotel in Oxon Hill, MD.  Our theme for this year is “By Faith – In Hope – We Cope”. The summit is for youth, college students, adults, seniors, and all persons who are in need a blessing. Visit our table in the Narthex after service.

AFRICAN-AFRICAN AMERICAN LIBERATION MINISTRY (AAALM): Celebrate Black History Month, Sat. Feb. 24th, on the Harriet Tubman Tour in Cambridge, MD; see an historical tribute to the iconic “Conductor of the Underground Railroad.” Full-day tour is $89 per person including a storyteller, Tubman Museum, lunch buffet, and more. BLACK HISTORY MONTH: Black History Month continues and each week we are profiling a notable African-American. This week we are profiling Madam C.J. Walker, born Sarah Breedlove. Walker created hair products for black hair and was one of the first American women to become a self-made millionaire. Walker was also known for her philanthropy and activism. She made financial donations to numerous organizations and was a patron of the arts.
