HOLIDAY: The Church and Admin. Office will be closed tomorrow, Feb 18 in observance of President’s Day. The 24-hour answering service will be available in case of emergency.

NEW MEMBERS: The next New Members’ class will be Sat., Feb 23 at 10 a.m. and will focus on stewardship.

POETRY MINISTRY: Celebrate Black History Month with the Poetry Ministry this Fri., Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. The theme is Black Migration, Sankofa with performances by the Anointed P.E.N.S., African drumming and dancing, Ebenezer’s Men’s Praise Team, open mic and more. The featured poet will be Monica Leak. If you have a love of poetry, come enjoy this celebration of our history, our culture and our love for Christ.

YOUTH/CHILDREN (KL4C): Parents and guardians, please bring your children to Kids Living 4 Christ this Fri., Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. as they join our Teens Living 4 Christ for a special Black History Bible Study.

CROCHET MINISTRY:   Come share your talents with the Crochet Ministry during a fellowship of creativity every 3rd Thurs. of the month.   The next meeting is Thurs. Feb. 21 at 7p.m.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY: Brothers, you don’t want to miss this Bible Study. Come out this Thurs., Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m.  Tell another brother and join us in the ZONE!

GRIEF SUMMIT: The Dept. of Comfort & Congregational Care and Youth Grief Initiative Annual Summit, “Conquering the Challenges of Life and Loss” is Sat., Feb. 23 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. here at the Main Church. Cost is $25 per person ages 19 & up; $5 per child/youth (ages 6-18); and $5 per college student with a valid student ID. Breakfast and lunch included. Register in the Narthex.

SCHOLARSHIP MINISTRY: Scholarship applications are now posted on Ebenezer’s website. All applications are due electronically by April 11. Check the website periodically as additional applications may be posted.

GLOBAL MISSIONS: The Ebenezer Global Missions Ministry needs your support to collect Reading Eyeglasses (in a case or pouch) for our Brothers and Sisters in Malawi, Southeast Africa in the 20th Episcopal District of the AME Church. Drop-off containers will be available for donations at the Main & Admin. entrances, until Sun., Feb. 24.

PREACHING ENGAGEMENT: Pastor Grainger Browning will be preaching Sun., Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. at Fairhaven A.M.E. Church, located at 4416 Fairhaven Avenue, Baltimore, MD.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH: We continue to celebrate Black History Month. On February 18, 1931, Pulitzer Prize winning author and Professor Toni Morrison was born. Morrison went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for her critically-acclaimed novel Beloved, which was later adapted into a film of the same name starting Oprah Winfrey. In 1996, the National Endowment for the Humanities selected her for the Jefferson Lecture, the U.S. federal government’s highest honor for achievement in the humanities.
