MORNING MIRACLE SERVICES: It’s the Lenten Season 2018! Come out at 6 am Monday through Wednesday until Easter for Miraculous Mondays, Triumphant Tuesdays and Wondrous Wednesdays with Pastor Grainger Browning beginning March 5th.
2018 LENTEN SEASON SERVICES: Join us for Lenten Services every Friday morning at 6 am on the third floor as members of the Ministerial Staff deliver the Word. Min. Ralph Miller will be the preacher this Fri., Feb. 23rd.
HBCU CHOIR CELEBRATION: Save the date! Ebenezer AME Music & Arts Ministry presents a Black History Month HBCU Choir celebration honoring Pastors Grainger and Jo Ann Browning’s 35th Pastoral Anniversary Fri., Feb. 23rd at 7 p.m. Featured choirs include Howard University, Lincoln University, and Virginia State University Gospel Choirs. Wear your alma mater or Greek paraphernalia and come honor our Pastors and HBCUs.
PREACHING ENGAGEMENT: Pastor Grainger Browning, Jr. will preach at Mount Pleasant AME Church Sun., Feb. 25th at 4 p.m.
CHURCH CLOSING: In observance of President’s Day, the church will be closed Mon., Feb. 19th. The 24-hour answering service will be available in case of emergency.
CALL TO MINISTRY: The next Call to Ministry Institute is Tues., Feb. 20th at 7 p.m. on the third floor. If you feel you have a calling on your life, don’t miss this meeting.
NEW MEMBERS CLASS: New Members’ class will be held Sat., Feb. 24th at 10 a.m. and will focus on stewardship.
PRE-MARITAL INSTITUTE: Considering engagement, engaged or already planning your wedding? Come out for a Bone of My Bone Pre-Marital Seminar taught by Pastor Jo Ann Browning Thurs., Feb 22nd at 7 p.m. Also, couples planning weddings for 2018 are encouraged to invest in their relationship with pre-marital counseling. Bone of My Bones Pre-Marital Institute is held on Saturdays for 8 weeks at 9 a.m. The first class of winter session begins Sat., March 3rd. Cost is $75. Register in the Admin. Office.
EBENEZER INSTITUTE: Plan to attend Ebenezer Institute’s March classes. Sessions begin March 3rd. The classes include Spiritual Gifts and Biblical Studies, Financial Planning & Management, and Professional Development. Don’t wait, register in the Narthex after service today.
CUB SCOUTS: Do you have a young man interested in joining Cub Scouts? Join us this Fri., Feb. 23rd at 7p.m. for our Pack 487 Indoor Carnival! Come for the Fun. Food, & Fellowship! Open to boys in Kindergarten-5th grade.
SOCIAL CONSCIOUS MINISTRY: Join the Social Conscious Ministry Sat., Feb. 24th at 10:30 a.m. for a “Conversation about Education” with current School Board Member for District 8, Ed Burroughs and former School Board Member Alvin Thornton. We look forward to hearing your questions, comments, and concerns about our education system.
2018 COMFORT & CONGREGATIONAL CARE SUMMIT: It’s time for the Ebenezer Comfort and Congregational Care 2018 Summit. Join them at 8 a.m., Sat., Feb. 24th at the Harborside Hotel in Oxon Hill. The theme for this year is “By Faith – In Hope – We Cope”. The summit is for youth, college students, adults, seniors, and all persons who are in need of a blessing. Visit their table in the Narthex.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH: Black History Month continues and each week we are profiling a notable African-American. This week we are profiling Fannie Lou Hamer. Hamer was an American voting and women’s rights activist, community organizer, and a leader in the civil rights movement. She served as the vice-chair of the Freedom Democratic Party. Hamer also organized Mississippi‘s Freedom Summer along with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), among other things. One of her most famous quotes is “I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.”
