BAPTISM: Baptism will be held today immediately following the 11:15 a.m. service. The next Baptismal instruction for Pouring & Sprinkling candidates will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at 7:00 p.m.

NEW MEMBERS’ CLASS: The next New Members’ class is Sat., May 2nd, from 10 a.m.-12 noon and will focus on faith and salvation.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY: Young Adults! Come out for “THE EXPERIENCE” Bible Study Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. The theme for the month of April is “There’s a Hero in You.” You are filled with greatness and this teaching will help you unlock the “hero” inside of you!

EBENEZER ORCHESTRA: The Ebenezer Symphony Orchestra is expanding and needs more members! Become a member of the Ebenezer Orchestra today! If you’d like to be a part of a progressive instrumental ministry, the ESO is for you. Auditions will begin the month of May audition info, email ESOrchestra@ebenezerame.org or call the Admin Office. Rehearsals are Saturdays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Attention Ebenezer’s 2015 high school graduates and returning college students. It’s Scholarship Season and there are several scholarships available through the ministries at Ebenezer! The Bishop Benjamin T. Tanner, the Isaac Gourdine and Jewels Ministry scholarship applications are being accepted until May 1. The King’s Men Harry Lee Jackson Jr. Memorial Scholarship deadline is May 2. The Comfort Department’s 2015 Spouses in Transition Scholarship is available for H.S. graduates and returning college and technical students—no older than 23 years old. The student must be the child of a deceased parent(s). Deadline is May 5. Applications are also available for the Shining Stars Before & After Program Scholarship.  Lastly, three Connectional Lay Organization Scholarships are available for H.S. graduates entering college AND for students pursuing course of study to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree, Master of Divinity or Doctor of Ministry. Deadline is May 15th.

WOMEN’S SEASON: Women’s Season 2015 continues! All sisters who desire to make a joyful noise in song, please come out to Women’s Day Choir rehearsals on Tuesdays at 7 pm. The next rehearsal is Tues., April 28th.

 

Outreach Day is this Sat., May 2nd. Sisters, there are a host of volunteer opportunities for you to participate in, including:

-Female Veterans Worship Service and Pampering Day at Capitol View Living Center

-Jewels Home Beautification Project

-Exceptional Persons Ministry Bowling Outing

-Healthy Babies Project Pampering for Single Mothers

-Toiletry Drive for Female Veterans

 Toiletry items can be dropped off in Narthex, Admin Area and also at WRRC (in the evenings from 6-9). Items needed include:

-Small bottles of shower gel

-Small tubes of toothpaste

-Baby wipes

-Hand Sanitizer

-Tissue

-Toothbrush

-Brush/comb

-Hair Bands

-Laundry Bags

-Deodorant

-Shampoo

-Socks

Mothers and daughter have a special bond. Sisters, make plans to join the Mother/Daughter Tea Sat., May 9th from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. here at Ebenezer. Tickets are only $20. Guest speakers will be 16-year old Breanna “Bree” Britt, owner of Bree’s Sweet Treats Bakery in Accokeek, MD and her mother Charmaine Britt.

Next up, save the date for Revival Part II Monday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 5th at 7 pm with powerhouse preacher, Rev. Dr. Jasmin Sculark.
