WOMEN’S DAY 2018: It’s Women’s Day 2018!We thank God for how He has blessed this entire 35th annual women’s season.  Thank you to our visionary for the season, Rev. Dr. Jo Ann Browning, co-chairs and co-coordinators and all who supported the season. Without a doubt, God IS a wonder!

NEW MEMBERS’ CLASS: New Members’ class will be held Sat., June 9th and will focus on Christianity and Discipleship.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: We would like to celebrate our 2018 Potomac District Youth Explosion essay contest winners 1st Place–Daijha Day, and 2nd place winners Nia Nottingham, and Kiara Brown! Our essay participants—Dasia Currie and Faith Clark. Also congratulations to Daylan Paige for receiving the 2018 Timothy Hay Scholarship! We thank EVERYONE who used their gifts and talents to make this year’s explosion a tremendous success! Remember Sunday School is for LIFE!

SCHOLARSHIP SUNDAY:  Scholarship recipients will be honored at the 10:45 worship service on Sun., June 10th Rev. Bernard Richardson, Ph. D., Dean of the Howard University Chapel will be our guest speaker. Please join us as we celebrate this momentous occasion.

YOUTH MINISTRY: Church Family, join us next Sun., June 10th by wearing your school and/or Fraternity/Sorority shirts as we celebrate our 2018 Graduates and Scholarship Recipients. Congratulations to all of our students graduating and being promoted to the next grade level.

POETRY MINISTRY: The Poetry ministry will host “Woke!,” the 2018 Juneteenth Celebration, Fri., June 15th at 6 p.m.  Please join them for poetry, vocals, African drumming and open mic. Featured speaker will be noted author and historian Dr. C. R. Gibbs and featured psalmist will be Ebenezer’s own, Christine Jenkins. KL4C MINISTRY: Parents and Guardians of Elementary age students, join Kids Living 4 Christ Fri., June 8th at 7 p.m. for Children’s Bible Study.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: 2018 Vacation Bible School will be June 25-29 from 9 a.m.-12 noon. Vacation Bible School volunteer training will be held Sat. June 9th at 8 a.m. at the Original Church. For additional information, call the Admin. Office.

MOBILE HOMELESS VAN MINISTRY: The Mobile Homeless Van Ministry is collecting new – not used – undergarments, i.e., t-shirts, men’s underwear; flip flops, shower shoes, and travel-size toiletries for the SUMMER PERSONAL COLLECTION DRIVE. Please drop the items off in the boxes marked MHVM (located near the Security Desk) beginning June 4th.  If you have any questions, please call the church office.

BASKETBALL MINISTRY: We are currently recruiting players for the Basketball Ministry summer program. Boys and girls from age groups 7-18 are welcome. Volunteer coaches and administrators are also needed. Please call the church or see them after service in the Narthex.

MEDIA MINISTRY: The Multi-Media Ministry is seeking persons with experience in Front of House Audio and Monitor Mixing. We are also seeking volunteers for video filming, production, duplication and sales. Please email at cooperj@ebenezerame.org or call the Administrative Office.

AFRICAN/AFRICAN AMERICAN LIBERATION MINISTRY (AAALM): Save-The-Date for The Heritage Weekend themed, “The Parallel” on Sat., July 14th from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Registration will be open June 8-July 2 via EventBrite. African/African-American Liberation Day will be held Sun., July 15th.

35th PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY: Our Pastors 35th pastoral anniversary year continues! As part of this celebration, we will host Ebenezer AME Family Reunion Weekend June 23-24. Sat., June 23rd will include a Family Reunion Fellowship here at Ebenezer, including games, a historical tribute, video showing of old services, and more! Then on Sun., June 24, we will have special worship services with guest preachers at 7:45, Rev. Harold Hayes and Rev. Tony Lee at 10:45. Then at 5p.m. the Ebenezer Choir Reunion Concert with former choir members AND directors! Tell everyone you know, it’s time to come back home to Ebenezer AME for our Family Reunion.

We are seeking all former choir members to join the Reunion Choir. If you’ve ever been in any choir, Kings Men, Rejoice/Young Adult, Bible Study Choir, you name it, please join us as we celebrate the years through song. Sign-up in the Narthex today. We are also seeking all former Liturgical Dance members to join Family Reunion Weekend! Go to ebenezerame.org to get information on all rehearsal and practice dates and more information.

Don’t forget you can continue to give your 35th love offering to Pastors anytime throughout the year. A designated basket is available each Sunday. We are grateful for God’s grace to thrive at 35!
